6 John Lennon ‘Plastic Ono Band’
Some of Lennon’s solo stuff is as good as the best Beatles work. I put his solo stuff on when I need reminding i’ve got a long long way to go.
7 Elvis Presley ‘The Sun Sessions’
When I was 6 I wanted to be Elvis, I thought he was the coolest man in the world. I loved the way that he would aways break a guitar string whenever he played guitar in any of his films. Like he was playing with too much passion and soul. Of course it was just showmanship, but then thats what he was. At 6 you fall for that stuff.
8 The Stone Roses ‘The Stone Roses’
I saw them last year for the reunion and it made me feel old. Having said that I am really happy they got together again. They deserved that. I Wanna Be Adored still outshines almost anything anyone has done since.
9 Joy Division ‘Closer’
My favourite band, back when I was young enough for that to mean everything to me.
10 Primal Scream ‘Screamadelica’
I guess I feel awkward writing about all these great albums. Like I can say anything that hasn’t been said a million times before. But you may not have heard all these albums. If theres one you haven’t heard go check it out. You wont be disappointed I promise.
