The top 1o favourite albums from the rest of Robert King’s current band…
William Baird
Sorry, took my time… I hate lists, fucking stupid…
THE ROLLING STONES – Exile on Main St.
The last Stones album that meant anything, saved my life once or twice.
THE FROGS – It’s only Right and Natural
Gay sex rules!
JAMES BROWN – Live at the Apollo
Wish I was at this gig, best live album I’ve ever heard.
JEFF BUCKLEY – Grace
Beautiful. And the same name as my bird. Grace that is, no Jeff.
T REX – Electric Warrior
Would have said Slider, but Coco and Rab said that. Also this is just as good.
ANDRE WILLIAMS – Silky
More songs about shagging. Andre is a true original and doesn’t get enough respect I reckon.
THE STOOGES – Raw Power
Any of the first 3 albums would have done, but today I say Raw Power. Reminds me of shagging too.
HAPPY MONDAYS – Bummed
Shagging on E (well probably just cuddling and talking about your feelings, mannn). The Mondays and Martin Hannett, love the production, not everybody did… their loss.
Z/28s – Wrecks from the Highway
In my top 5 Edinburgh bands. Space cadets, love them.
SCARS – Author! Author!
One of Scotland’s greatest ever bands. Singer’s a bit of a character though.
Russell Burn
Funkadelic -One Nation Under A Groove
Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band – Safe As Milk
Richard Hell + The Voidoids – Blank Generation
Kink Tubby-Meets Rockers Uptown
No New York
Sly And The Family Stone-There’s a Riot Goin’ On
“Head”- A Snog On The Rocks
Lydia Lunch-Queen of Siam
Vic Godard & Subway Sect-Whats the Matter Boy?
Slade-Slade Alive(cassette)
(in no particular really !)
Colin Whitson
These albums are in no way a favourite top ten, there are far too many excellent albums and as I write this more and more are coming to mind which are brilliant…… but here off the top of my head are the most inspirational for me which first spring to mind
Never Mind the Bollocks – Sex Pistols
Moving Targets – Penetration
Kick out theJams – MC5
Slider – T Rex
Funhouse – The Stooges
Live at the Esplanade – Lime Spiders
Real Life – Magazine
Hymns off Faith - Crisis
Nuggets Original Artyfacts 1965/68 – Various Artists
Opium Kitchen – coming soon
Once written I notice no Sleaford Mods , Wobble and Levein, Roky Erickson and the Aliens, Johnny Cash or Motorhead or Trojan Singles or The Mob or Love or or or I could go on and on and on and on …I specifically am inspired by my last choice in the list!!!!!
