Ryuichi Sakamoto
St Johns-at-Hackney Church, London
20th February, 2014
Ryuichi Sakamoto is a Japanese musician, activist, composer, record producer, writer, singer, pianist, and actor, based in Tokyo and New York. He began his career in 1978 and his achievements include winning Academy, Grammy and Golden Globe awards.
A few days ago he gave what our photographer called “an intense, yet wonderful performance” in the historical grounds of East London’s St Johns-at-Hackney Church where he was joined on stage by American sound artist, photographer and 12k record label founder Taylor Deupree.
