A recent hint by former Abba singer Agnetha Falkstog that Abba may be thinking of reforming to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their song Waterloo winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 has sent the rumour mill spinning.
The Swedish band, now in their sixties, who have become international treasures over the decades with their perfect pop music that defied the critics and stands up as populist perfection, could make their final return in a one off show that will almost inevitably spin off into a world tour.
For years it was Agnetha that had put a stop to any plans for a reformation but her hint in a recent interview could be a turning point for Sid Vicious’s favourite band who were the true soundtrack to the seventies and a huge influence on pop music ever since.
There is even another mini rumour, which we frankly believe to be wishful thinking and highly unlikely, that Abba could play Glastonbury 2014…
