Organisers have announced Hevy Fest 2013 won’t go ahead.

The event had been held at Port Lympne in previous years but was forced into a change of venue for 2013. This included losing the camping element of the festival as they moved to the 02 in Brixton.

Bands set to play this year’s event, which was planned for 4 August, included Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed and Comeback Kid. Black Flag had originally been touted as joining the line up before the event was moved to Brixton.

A statement on the festival’s Facebook page read:

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of this year’s festival.

“Despite our best efforts to continue without the camping set-up, the change of venue has been more problematic than anticipated. It is time to draw a line under 2013, and look to the future to make sure next year’s festival is everything Hevy should be.

“This has been a turbulent year for us, and we are very sorry to have let our audience down.”

A show by Horse the band will go ahead on 3 August at the Borderline in London. Tickets are still available online.
