Alan Mcgee is launching his new monthly 359 record label on Friday Sept 6th with a monthly night in Liverpool at the District club.
The former creation Records boss announced his return to music recently with the intriguing 359 label that has 21 artists ready to go and is catching the new wave of youth music (and a few veterans!) that is exploding out of recession blighted UK. Despite the collapse of the music industry there is more music out there than ever before and it’s of a very high quality.
McGee’s new club night will be the first Friday of every month and showcases these bands starting off with the first batch of releases on the label.
The bill for that first night will be CHRIS GRANT+JOHN LENNON MCCULLAGH+THE HUYTON MINSTREL +KEZIAH with 359 DJ’S ALAN MCGEE/JOHN REED AND BABY G .
The Club is called District and the address is District 61 Jordan Street L1 OBW (facebook link to club is here) and it will be 5 pounds admission.
Alan Mcgee told us…
‘the reason i am doing it in Liverpool is simple- there is more talent in Huyton than there is in Hoxton. London is musically dead and Liverpool is still alive. The 359 club will be based in the pool of life…’.
