News just in - Echo & The Bunnymen’s Ian McCulloch will be releasing a new album on 22nd April  on Edsel Records called ‘Holy Ghosts’. This news is so fresh we haven’t even got cover art to share with you! What we have got however are more details about the release, which you can see by scrolling down.

Firstly, it’s going to be a double album. Disc 1 will be Orchestral Reworkings from the Union Chapel
with Disc 2 being a brand new studio album titled ‘Pro Patria Mori’.

The press release states:

“Ian McCulloch has announced the release of the stunning ‘Holy Ghosts’, featuring two discs representing  different eras in Mac’s work. The first is a collection of orchestral re-workings of classic Echo & The Bunnymen and solo tracks, originally recorded during McCulloch’s show at the Union Chapel last year. It will be released on Edsel Records on 22nd April 2013.”

“This hugely moving album is produced by Youth (Primal Scream/Depeche Mode/The Verve) and sounds simultaneously intimate and majestic with McCulloch’s voice full of raw emotion and all the more powerful for it. It also marks the beginning of an exciting new musical direction for the iconic singer.”

“The second disc is a new studio album ‘Pro Patria Mori’ that showcases ten new songs and completes a fantastic package.”

Accompanying the news we can share with you, via the magic of streaming, a beautiful version of Echo & The Bunnymen’s classic track Bring On The Dancing Horses, the single which they first released back in 1985.
